Why do fireflies die so soon?*

Filed under: TV and Movies — Jayson Yang @ 9:59 am

The best animated film I’ve seen in my entire life, Grave of the Fireflies is about a Japanese boy Seita and his younger sister Setsuko who suffered the consequences of the second world war. The film showed how the two kids fought for lives after losing their mother in an air raid, and their father who was a member of the Japanese navy.

I never cried over a film as much as I did over this. It is full of love. It reminds everyone that war is always a losing game.

I’m giving this film 5 out of 5 stars. 🙂

See Roger Egbert‘s review.

*My favorite line from the movie.
